IMPORTANT NEWS AFFECTING YOUR MEMBERSHIP Non-Members Entrance Fee Going Up
Now is the time to get your membership if you are not a member. Effective Friday, April 9, 2007 non-members entrance will be $15. You can purchase a membership for only $30. That a savings of $20 from our normal price plus members only pay $5 for entry and may come as often as they like. Non-members may come only one in 30 days.

Members’ Express Line will be open to all members who have both their valid Club 216 Membership Card & valid Drivers License in hand. Sorry, we cannot handle membership renewals at the Members’ Express Line, so keep your membership & membership card up-to-date. On Regular Nights only members may use the Members’ Express Line from 1:30 AM until the front door line is gone. On Open House nights Members & Members’ guests may use the Members’ Express Line which will be open from 1:00 AM until the front door line is gone. Members must have a valid Club 216 membership card & valid picture ID in hand. Members’ guest must have a valid picture ID in hand. Non-members, except those that are actually guests, of members may not use the Members’ Express Line. The Members’ Express Line is located on the loading dock, 2nd double glass doors. Members, Please do not pick up non-members & bring them in the Members’ Express Line. That would tend to counter what we are trying to do. Signs will be posted.

Open Season on Memberships to Club 216
Only members & guests of members may come to Club 216 except on open house nights. Members usually pay $5 & guests $13 to enter the club. Membership is normally $50.00, however membership is currently on sale for $30 - $25 for students with current student ID. Membership must be made at least a day before it is valid. NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS ABOUT METAL DETECTORS

As you may have noticed last weekend, Club 216 has begun using metal detectors on members and guests before entering the club. We appreciate all of the great feedback we have received from many of you concerning the decision to have metal detectors and to continue our legacy as the safest club in Charlottesville! We also appreciate your patience as we continue to work out the best practices to performing the metal detection. Finally, please know that anytime you exit the club and re-enter, you will need to go through the metal detection process again!
REMINDER TO MEMBERS ABOUT GUESTS

A gentle reminder to all members that you are allowed up to 4 guests per month to Club 216, NOT 4 guests per weekend. As Club 216 can only accept new members by having current members sponsor them, we ask you to please encourage your friends to submit an application for membership so they can come as often as they like. You can sponsor them by writing your name and membership number on their application and they will only need to pay $30 for the year and then $5 each time they attend. Finally, please remember that you are responsible for your guests and their behavior in the club, so we ask you to please be mindful and respectful of Club 216 policies and procedures. We appreciate all of you and want only the most fun atmosphere for you and your guests!

Come Early

Three Saturdays in the past 2 months the entrance line to Club 216 has had to be closed down because the club became full. Once the club is full it is a “on out, one in” situation. Also, once the club is full, anyone who goes out must get in the back of the entrance line to get back in. You are well advised to come earlier on Saturday nights. It might help get you in ahead of non-members if you carry your membership card.
Club 216 Smoking Policy

Smoking is NOT permitted on the main bar side of Club 216, including the entrance foyer and rest rooms. Smoking is permitted on the dance floor side, including the pool room on that side, but is not permitted on the enclosed main dance floor.
Club 216 has made a dramatic change to the music program. Frank Rivera is now our Resident DJ. Frank is a local guy, 29 years old with extensive background as a disc jockey. He comes from a Cuban-American background but speaks no Spanish. He began working at Club 216 in July 1997, so he has been a part of a many of changes over the years. Prior to working at Club 216, Frank was a DJ at Court Yard Marriott and the former Katties Country Club. His previous productions have included Liquid, Abduction and Divine. Frank is a fun guy and is really good at "working" the crowd on the dance floor. Frank will be playing Nostalgia – Music from the 70s & 80s every third Friday. Come out and support your Resident DJ Frank Rivera.
CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations to Alexea Breeden, our new Miss Gay Charlottesville! She was crowned Friday, August 10 at a packed ceremony in the club. Also, congratulations to First Runner Up Madison Heights, and Second Runner Up Gwyyn Kelly. All the contestants worked hard and appreciate your support!
